Digital Health Canada MeetUps offer opportunities to network with digital health professionals from your area in a relaxed atmosphere.

Your $40 registration fee includes snacks and one drinks ticket (soda, wine, or beer).

Please note: If you are registered for the Saskatchewan Region Conference, your conference registration already includes admission to the MeetUp. This registration is intended only for individuals who wish to attend the MeetUp and are not registered for the conference.

Registration fees shown include 5% GST.

As Canada advances toward more integrated and AI-enabled health systems, physicians continue to experience electronic medical record (EMR) frustrations that impact patient care and workflow efficiency. This mixed method study explores what physicians truly need from their EMRs versus what they find unacceptable, through a provincial study and specialty-specific focus groups. By identifying priority functionalities and key design gaps, this work offers evidence-based insights to inform EMR redesign, interoperability initiatives, and physician-centred digital health strategies.

Mavis Jones, Manager, Policy, Evaluation & Corporate Performance

Mavis Jones has been with OntarioMD for ten years and leads a team that runs clinician-facing evaluations on digital health. Prior to that, she held roles in knowledge translation in government and charitable health sectors. She holds a PhD in politics and has completed post-docs in medical anthropology and sociology of science, with a focus on health technology policy.

Dannica Switzer, Rural Generalist

Dannica Switzer is a rural generalist working as a locum throughout Northern Ontario. She is involved with the OMA’s Rural Medicine Forum and District 9, and has been part of the OMA’s Advocacy Panel, now the Advocacy, Communications and Engagement Panel, from 2023-2026. Dannica is a strong advocate for Northern and Rural health.

Nickiesha Linton is Director, Education and Thought Leadership at Digital Health Canada. Ana Paula Martins Inácio, MD, is a Brazilian-trained physician with experience in clinical care, health systems management, research, and quality improvement. She completed postgraduate studies in Health Systems Management in Canada and contributed to a Health Information Management project at London Health Sciences Centre focused on documentation quality, data analysis, and process improvement. Her interests include digital health, patient safety, health information, and the use of data to improve healthcare quality and clinical practice.

Aastha Singh, Health Information Management Practitioner, Saskatchewan Health Authority

Aastha Singh is a healthcare professional from India with a solid clinical background in Dental Surgery and Public Health. In 2023, she relocated to Canada to enhance her expertise and completed her studies in Health Systems Management at Fanshawe College. Following this, she earned her CHIM Certification. Currently, she serves as a Health Information Management Practitioner at the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
