The virtual urgent care program at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) helps children and families determine what type of care is needed, access reliable health education resources and, for eligible patients, participate in live virtual urgent care visits, all from the comfort of home.
This webinar will present an overview of the conception and delivery of the SickKids “Digital Front Door” Urgent Care program. Presenter Dr. Daniel Rosenfield will share early usage statistics and other details of the new paediatric virtual urgent care program.

Dr. Daniel Rosenfield, B.Arts.Sc, MD, MHI, FRCPC (Paeds, PEM) is a paediatric emergency medicine specialist at the Hospital for Sick Children and an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. After completing his undergraduate degree at McMaster University, he completed his medical, paediatric and paediatric emergency medicine training at the University of Toronto. After additional training in trauma and injury prevention, he went on to obtain a Masters in Health Informatics through the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. He is currently the site director for the Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention (CHIRPP) program, and maintains active research and quality improvement projects looking at paediatric trauma and injuries. In the informatics space, he is the lead for virtual care in the emergency department, and is currently helping open and maintain the SickKids “Digital Front Door” Urgent Care program.
