This virtual LinkUp will discuss access, use and sharing of digital health data and information as it relates to innovation and shapes the future digital health landscape in Saskatchewan. We will discuss what enhancements to infrastructure, information systems and analytical capabilities are necessary to best serve the people of Saskatchewan.

Discussion Topics:

  1. What is the Saskatchewan vision for digital health? Do we share consistent vison and definitions with other jurisdictions?
  2. How does our vision for digital health influence what data is collected and in determining criteria for the data?
  3. In what ways is the access, use and sharing of digital health data and information impacted by the presence of many health service providers and so many stakeholder groups? (for example: public health systems, educational institutes, vendors, private providers, information service providers and research bodies?)
  4. Does the knowledge produced with data collection and reporting align with the evidence needs of the health system? What else needs to be done to meet these needs?
  5. Who is the data shared with and how is it used to shape the future of digital health in Saskatchewan?

This dynamic discussion will be moderated by;

Mary Deren graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Major in  Acute Care Health Administration in 1985 and a second Major in Long Term Care and Community Health Administration in 1987. Mary has 47 years of experience working in healthcare with 18 years as a Telehealth and then Virtual Care Coordinator with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Mary calls herself a pioneer in Telehealth being among the first coordinators across Canada. She says it has been an exciting journey but the best is yet to come as Digital Health solutions are used to improve and advance the patient experience and keep care close to home. In addition to working in Virtual Care, Mary still works contract as a Laboratory and X-ray Technician, Cardiology Technologist and Paramedic.
