What do the refreshed HIP® Core Competencies mean for you, your team or your organization?

Digital health practice has evolved, and the 2026 Health Informatics Professional (HIP®) Core Competencies Framework reflects it. The seven-domain foundation remains, now with more applied language and cross-cutting capabilities embedded throughout, from AI literacy and interoperability to equity-aware practice and Indigenous data sovereignty.

Join us for a closer look at the refresh: how the framework was updated, what has changed, and how professionals, educators and employers can put it to work. We'll also discuss how it connects with Digital Health Canada’s professional development resources.

Whether you’re a practitioner, educator, employer, workforce planner or student, you’ll leave with practical ideas for using the framework to identify development priorities and strengthen capability in your role, team or organization.
